This is why we install Tremco Barrier Solutions TUFF-N-DRI® waterproofing system.

The quality of the membrane is the difference. The TUFF-N-DRI® elastomeric membrane not only stops water intrusion but is flexible enough to span potential future hairline cracks, helping ensure your foundation and home remain protected long-term.

The next step is installing the foundation board over the rubberized elastomeric membrane on the exterior of your foundation. 

We protect the best quality membrane with the best quality foundation board. 

Foundation board is designed to:

  • Direct water down to the drainage system (washed rock and weeping tile).

  • Provide a thermal break (separating the ground from the foundation).

  • Protect the membrane during backfill.

  • Absorb some of the compressive forces from the surrounding soils

During application, the foundation board is embedded directly into the hot elastomeric membrane. This eliminates the need to mechanically fasten the board to the wall which means no holes in the new membrane and no potential for new cracks/ damage to the foundation.

Our foundation waterproofing process

On existing homes, foundation waterproofing involves the excavation of the perimeter of the home, taking care to minimize disruption and protect the existing landscaping as possible.

Once the excavation is complete:

  1. The foundation wall is thoroughly cleaned, washed, and dried.

  2. The TUFF-N-DRI® waterproof membrane is applied to the exterior wall.

  3. WARM-N-DRI® foundation board is installed to protect the membrane and improve drainage.

  4. New weeping tile is installed around the footing.

  5. A minimum of 12 inches of clean drainage rock is placed over the weeping tile to allow water to flow freely into the drainage system.

After installation, the trench is carefully backfilled and the work area is cleaned. We ensure the site is tidy and that all construction debris is removed before the project is complete.

The result is a complete waterproofing system designed to manage water around your home and help keep your basement dry for years to come.
